My Natural Hair Journey...........................

Hey good people!!! Yes I know it's been a while #dontjudgeme. We'll catch up on all the other stuff but I wanted to update you on my hair. You may or may not know that I decided to go natural and it's been 9 months since I've been off the creamy crack. It hasn't been easy and I almost relapsed a few times (several times) but I think I'm good now.

My reasons for going natural were simply because
1) my hair was very thin and unhealthy &
2) my perm was controlling my life i.e. no sweating which meant no workouts, no swimming or any activities that involved getting wet

It was holding me back.  So here I am 9 months later getting to know what my unprocessed mane acts like and let me tell you......this chick has a attitude!!! The main problem is that I refuse to cut the permed ends so the two textures aren't getting along. Then trying to find products that actually work for your hair type is def an adventure. Alhough it hasn't been an easy task I think I finally found some products that agree with my hair.

1) Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo

This is  like washing your hair with silk! It's very important to remember that every one's hair isn't the same and what works for me may not always work for you. Shea Moisture products can be found at Target stores.

2) Silicone Mix Leave in Conditioner

Silicon Mix is a Dominican product but can be found in most beauty supply stores. It really softens my hair and makes it very easy to detangle. If you have trouble finding it at your local beauty supply it can be purchased here

I'm currently rocking a weave until my hair grows a little more but the crown of my head (the top) is out. For styling I've come up with a trifecta which keeps my hair tamed for the whole day.

3) Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie (LOVE!!!)

4) Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel (For a soft hold & shine)

5) Lottabody Olive Oil Foam Wrap
(pretty much does the same thing as the Eco Styler Gel but I just use it for security purposes LOL)

Eco Styler & Lottabody products can be purchased at the BS and as I mentioned earlier Shea Moisture products can be purchased at a Target near you.

My final recommendation is........drum roll please...........YOUTUBE!!!!

Honey YouTube saved my life. There are several young ladies who've been kind enough to share their secrets with us and you should def take advantage of it!!! If you know me you know I hate taking pics but I'll take one soon so you can see what I'm working with.  Hope I've been helpful!

Kisses
